Marc Schlotman, a certificated pilot of single engine airplanes under the authority of Part 61 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, is now authorized to fly passengers for pleasure. Schlotman received training with John Thompson, two-time master CFI, at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport (KSTE). Shane Robert Lehman, DPE, endorsed his airmanship.

Marc writes “When I first walked through the door at KSTE, I really didn’t know much of anything about flying airplanes. I just knew I wanted to give it a try. Two days later I went up with John in his Cessna 150 (the first small plane ride of my life) and he let me take the yoke and I’ve been hooked ever since. After about 8 hours, I had my first Solo (see bad picture above).  I remember being so nervous and yet excited; it was crazy. Later on, I went through Wanda and John’s 2 day ground school and the day after passed the written test. From that point on, there was a lot of good entertaining conversations on cross country flights with John. The conversations only got better when I’d get back home to Stevens Point and chat with everyone at the airport. Not everyone was always awake to join in. Peewee works hard to keep the airport pristinely decorated, so that is forgivable. One thing is for sure, I couldn’t have asked for better Instructors, support staff, or an airport to go from a normal person to a real live Pilot! Now I’m off to a flight academy down south to get the rest of my ratings and then hopefully a job on the commercial side. I’ll surely be back if even just to stop in for a cup of coffee…”.  Marc Schlotman, Private Pilot Airplane 01/29/12

 Kent Troxel, a certificated pilot of single engine airplanes under the authority of Part 61 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, is now authorized to fly passengers for pleasure. Troxel received accelerated training with Wanda Zuege, 2010 CFI of the year/Wisconsin, at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport (KSTE). Sherwood “Woody” Williams, DPE, endorsed his airmanship.

Marc arrived at the Stevens Point airport Monday afternoon and proudly announced he had just passed the Private Pilot Knowledge Test.

“Hey Wanda, Brent Hancock calling.  I just took my knowledge test and passed with an 87%. So I just wanted to let you know and give you guys some feedback. I don’t really have any glitches other than those memorized numbers where there was one question had two possible answers 43 & 48. Well, I am going to have lunch with my wife now.”  

“Hi Wanda, just calling to let you know I passed the instrument on Monday. Got an 82. Thought the questions were pretty straight forward. I think we covered most of them in class. So, thanks again for your help. “
