March 19, 2015, at the Stevens Point Wisconsin Airport (KSTE): Andrew Jon Peterson, a certificated pilot of single-engine land airplanes, completed instrument flight training with Wanda Zuege, 2010 Flight Instructor Of The Year/Wisconsin. As a Private Pilot, Andy was authorized to fly passengers for pleasure or personal business under Visual Flight Rules in Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC); to fly in weather where the visibility would be 3 miles or greater in controlled airspace.

On Thursday, March 19, 2015, Peterson first demonstrated mastery of the single engine aircraft for each instrument TASK performed during the Instrument Practical Test flight with Designated Pilot Examiner, Harold “Duffy” Gaier at the Marshfield Municipal Airport.

Under the authority of FAR Part 61.57 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Andrew Jon Peterson is now eligible to fly by reference to instruments under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) in single engine airplanes. Known as blind flying, the instrument rating is an aviation flight category that describes flying in weather conditions with less than 3 statute miles of visibility in controlled airspace.
