Career Pilot Training
 
Instrument Rating Requirements:
 
A person whol applies for an instrument rating must:
  • Hold a current private pilot certificate
  • Received and logged ground training.
  • Pass an FAA knowledge (written) test. 
  • Pass the required practical/flight test. 
  • Aeronautical experience, including:
        -- 50 hours of cross-country flight time as PIC
        -- 40 hours of actual or simulated flight time including 15 hours of (dual) flight training.
  • Cross Country Procedures:
        -- At least 250nm performed in the IFR system
        -- An instrument approach at each airport, with three different kinds of approaches.
